Challenge

We recently performed a crawl space evaluation on local area church. This was probably one of the largest, oldest crawl spaces we have performed work in.

During our visit - we realized that this crawl space had moisture, bacterial growth, and areas of wood rot that were starting to affect the foundation of this old crawl space. We found wood with mositure drops all over the crawl space, mushrooms growing on the foundation floor and black growth on the wood.

Solution

We recommended that the church install a crawl space encapsulation.

We installed a Smart Sump system - SmartDrain EZ-pipe around the perimeter to drain all water to the low end of the crawl space and then installed a SmartSump to pump out the water to a catch basin.

We placed down a CleanSpace w/ SilverGlo to air seal and insulate the crawl space according to the recommened repairs. This included a 20 mil vapor barrier.

We installed a SaniDry CX commercial grade dehumidification system to drain to the outside to protect the conditioned area from future moisture.
