History Of GSM Services & The Owners

GSM Services began as a small sheet metal and roofing shop in 1927 named "Gastonia Sheet Metal", founded by W. Fred Long. His son, Ronald J. Long, Sr., took over in 1971 and later passed it to his sons, Steven and Joel, in 2005. Steven and Joel, NC State graduates, are the third generation to lead the company.

Over the years, our services expanded from sheet metal work to offer HVAC services, duct cleaning, insulation, crawl space repairs and more. Which is when we changed our name to "GSM Services". Despite growth, GSM has remained committed to quality and service. Joel Long runs the Commercial Divisions, while Steven Long leads the Residential Divisions, with a shared vision of creating lifelong customers through top-notch service.
